If you’ve always dreamed of acting or you’re a seasoned young performer there is a place for you in this delightful production. STARS is an educational theater producing musicals with local young people for 28 years. In addition to THE ELVES & THE SHOEMAKER, local teens will present Disney’s NEWSIES, Jr. Interested students of both ages have one more chance to audition.
The next auditions are scheduled for Sunday, August 14 at 2:30pm, and all interested students are encouraged to attend. If you are interested but cannot attend please call 817-925-1430. Auditions and rehearsals will be at the Community Building behind the FUMC Bedford located at 2012 Shady Brook in Bedford.
The hilarious musical, ELVES & THE SHOEMAKER, is based on the classic story of a kind shoemaker with a gentle heart and no money. This show has it all: a nasty villainess, a humble hero, and a cast filled with plenty of kooky characters for boys and girls alike. Young actors will have a blast portraying Lockhardt, the shoemaker; Sneerella Twerm, the evil landlady; Mrs. Snootbottom, the town snob; the hysterical elves, Mortz, Schwartz, Hazel, Gracie, and Studebaker; and many more loveable friends in the magical town of Clankbottom. The musical score includes songs such as “Enough, Enough”, “They’re Wonderful”, and “Bless This House”. All roles will be played by young people.
With plenty of roles for both male and female actors, experienced performers and those new to the stage will shine this fall at STARS Theater Company. Students will study acting, singing, and dancing with STARS professional staff. Tuition is $100/month and rehearsals are every 1st & 3rd Saturday. For more information on THE ELVES AND THE SHOEMAKER or Disney’s NEWSIES call 817-925-1430 or check the website at http://www.STARSTheaterCompany.org
