Arts Council Northeast and the City of Watauga are pleased to welcome Trout Fishing in America for a concert on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Watauga Public Library, 7109 Whitley Road.
Music for People Who Take Their Fun Seriously! Trout Fishing in America is an eclectic folk/rock band best known for family music and kids’ songs. Songs like “My Hair Had a Party Last Night,” “18 Wheels on a Big Rig,” and "The Window", have earned them a place in the hearts of kids and parents everywhere. Trout Fishing in America is the long-standing and yet seemingly unlikely musical partnership of Keith Grimwood and Ezra Idlet. As individuals, they are about as different as one can imagine. Together, they blend seamlessly in a way that has captured the imagination (and hearts) of audiences of all ages for over three decades. Trout Fishing in America was in the first wave of artist-owned labels (Trout Records) to successfully record and market their own music. Their recordings have garnered multiple national awards as well as four Grammy nominations. Keith and Ezra also write songs for "grownups" and recently released "Lookin' at Lucky," a CD loaded with their renowned humor and great melodies, peppered with stellar performances by guest artists.
Through the MasterWorks Series, Arts Council Northeast and the City of Watauga present free performances on selected evenings throughout the year. The MasterWorks Series is designed to offer a variety of quality family entertainment to the community by utilizing the talent of local, regional, and national artists.
