STARS Theater Company announces auditions for ages 8-12 for the new musical, THE PINOCCHO SHOW. Auditions are Saturday, February 4, 9:00am-noon at the Community Building of the First United Methodist Church in Bedford. Local young people ages 8-12 are encouraged to audition.
Carlo Collodi’s classic story, Pinocchio, gets a fun and wacky makeover in this musical adaptation. Young Carl wants to run away from home so he tries to get a job with the mysterious Professor Pinecone and his traveling magical marionette puppet show. He soon discovers that his new job comes with all kinds of strings attached. The upbeat musical features a host of kooky characters including a cricket with an attitude, a sassy blue’s singing fairy, the devious Fox and Cat, Fannie Oakleaf and Tina Tuna. The new musical is filled with fun dialogue, modern music and a surprise ending. All roles will be played by young people.
STARS is an educational theater with 23 years of experience in Northeast Tarrant County. The production will be directed by Lu Anne Tyson. Performances are scheduled for May 12-14. Rehearsals will be 1st & 3rd Saturdays of each month at the Community Building of the First United Methodist Church in Bedford, 2012 Shady Brook in Bedford. Tuition: $85 per month.
