Care N’ Care Health Plan Invites Local Seniors to be Part of the “Empowering Seniors Expo” October 6

Seniors throughout Tarrant County and beyond are invited to attend the ninth annual Empowering Seniors Expo on Friday, October 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First Euless Campus West in Bedford. Caregivers and others interested in keeping seniors healthy, engaged and empowered are invited to attend as well.

“The local senior community is a vital part of what makes North Texas such as wonderful place to live and work,” said Wendy Karsten, chief executive officer of Care N’ Care Health Plan, the title sponsor for the event. “This expo was created to celebrate the power of seniors and to further empower them through good health so they can continue to live life to its fullest.”

Seniors attending the expo will be able to avail themselves of free flu shots by simply presenting their Medicare card. There will also be professional health screenings including blood glucose, bone density, hearing, eye exams and more, plus informational workshops, an “ask the doctor” panel, and more than 150 senior-focused exhibitors.

In addition to the health-related activities, attendees can expect free food, entertainment, door prizes and bingo. Special guests will include iconic weatherman and Care N’ Care member Troy Dungan as well as WBAP radio talk show host and Star-Telegram columnist Neil Sperry.

First Euless Campus West is located at 205 North Industrial Blvd. in Bedford. Further information on the Empowering Senior Expo may be obtained at http://www.empoweringseniors.com.
