Roanoke, Texas – Arts Council Northeast and the City of Roanoke are pleased to welcome Chaz Marie Band for a concert on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Austin Street Plaza Corner of Oak & Austin St.
Anybody who has ever seen Chaz Marie live knows she’s the real deal. She sings from the depths of her soul. Her voice is a fusion of her musical influences in country, delta blues, R&B and rock and roll. A natural lyricist, she unabashedly reels you into a realm of sensual, sweet surrender. Born in Mississippi, raised in Texas, she comes from a highly musical family and no doubt, acquired her pipes by belting it out in church every Sunday. Chaz has worked with artists such as Brian McKnight, Kenny Rogers, Wynonna, Lonestar, Joe Nichols, Steve Azar, JoDee Messina, Richard Marx, The Temptations, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Mark McKinney, Tejas Brothers and many more. Chaz’s first major label project was Curb Records LeAnn Rimes “Sittin On Top of the World.” Followed by Chaz and her sister Kessie’s release of their self- titled debut project on Universal/Republic Records – the Marie Sisters and gained a Billboard Top 40 Country hit with their single “Real Bad Mood.” Chaz is now getting ready to launch her first all original solo project.
Through the MasterWorks Series, Arts Council Northeast and the City of Roanoke present free performances on selected evenings throughout the year. The MasterWorks Series is designed to offer a variety of quality family entertainment to the community by utilizing the talent of local, regional, and national artists.
