AGES 6 - 12: June 13-16 at Florence Elementary - KISD: 3095 Johnson Rd., Southlake

              • Mixed Media: Create individualized art pieces through a wide range of mediums

              • Discover Great Artists: Hands-on art in the styles of the great masters

This session also explores set design and musical theater with a performance on the last day for friends and family.

TEENS ages 12-16: July 18-22 at First United Methodist Church - 422 Church St., Grapevine

This TEENS ONLY session offers the unique, fun experience and excitement of producing a musical theater show. Students will explore acting through short scenes, monologues, and improv. Students will design and create sets while learning songwriting and playwriting!  It concludes with a performance on the last day for friends and family. 

 

All sessions are 9:00 am - 3:00 pm and students should bring a sack lunch and drink daily.  Buy one registration, get one half off available through May 31.  Click here to sign up and learn more.

Arts Council Northeast hosts the fifth-annual Triple Crown Affair at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie on Saturday, May 7, in the Alysheba Ballroom, where guests can watch the live races from the terrace. We’ll celebrate the heritage, traditions, and style of the Kentucky Derby with Southern hospitality and a party mentality from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. – it will be a day you won’t soon forget!  There is still time to buy your tickets online through Thursday, May 5 - get yours today!  

Join us to watch “The Run for the Roses” on big-screen televisions and live racing all day on the Lone Star Park track. Pick your horses, place your bets, and cheer on your favorites while enjoying a lavish buffet and and complimentary beer and wine (don’t forget your Mint Julep!). Wear your finest Derby hat, because prizes will be awarded to those who do it best.

A silent auction will offer the chance to bid on a fabulous array of items, including pairs of Manolo's and Christian Louboutin's heels. The live auction will be an exciting culmination to the day, featuring one-of-a-kind trips and tempting luxuries.

Proceeds from the event benefit Arts Council Northeast to fund its community arts programs, grants, Summer Arts Camp for children, and free MasterWorks Concert Series.

Tickets are $150 each, and tables of 10 are available. WHAT: MasterWorks Concert Series - FREE and OPEN to the public!

WHEN: Thursday, April 14 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

WHERE: Old Bedford School, 2400 School Lane

Bedford, Texas – Arts Council Northeast and the City of Bedford are pleased to welcome Zack King for a free concert on Thursday, April 14 at the Old Bedford School, 2400 School Lane.

Zack King and his band have been performing their unique brand of Texas Rock across the U.S. for over 10 years. In that time they have played with some of the most illustrious superstars in rock and country music. They kicked off their career opening for legendary singer/songwriter Leon Russell and have since performed with the likes of Bon Jovi, Alabama, Chris Cagle, Bret Michaels, Randy Travis, Keith Anderson, Kevin Fowler, Stone Temple Pilots, Tesla, Ronnie Milsap and many more.

The NHL’s Dallas Stars have been using Zack King songs for years both at Dallas’ American Airline Center during home games as well as in advertising and promotion for the team. Most recently, the band’s single “What Do You Say” is being used by CBS Television in Dallas/Fort Worth to promote current programming. Their song “Big Plan In The Southland” is the theme song for CBS’ DFW Outdoorsman featuring former Dallas Cowboy Marcus Spears.

Through the MasterWorks Series, Arts Council Northeast and the City of Bedford present free performances on selected evenings throughout the year. The MasterWorks Series is designed to offer a variety of quality family entertainment to the community by utilizing the talent of local, regional, and national artists.

Once again, Arts Council Northeast offers children 6-16 the chance to learn from area artists at an arts camp that's both fun and educational - Summer Arts College.  This summer we have sessions in Southlake, Colleyville, and Grapevine.

Arts Council Northeast invites you to support our annual fundraising event - the TRIPLE CROWN AFFAIR at LONE STAR PARK on Saturday, May 7, 2016. 

We’ll be in Grand Prairie, Texas, from 2-6pm to watch “The Run for the Roses” – the Kentucky Derby, and it will be a great opportunity to promote your business while supporting a good cause. Guests will enjoy a fabulous buffet, and complimentary beer and wine. Live and silent auctions, along with a Derby hat contest, will add to the fun. The event will be in the private Alysheba Ballroom, where attendees will watch the live races from the large terrace and cheer on their favorites as they cross the finish line! The Kentucky Derby will be simulcast live on the televisions in the ballroom. 

You can help us in our mission by becoming a sponsor for this event. With a vision of access to the arts for all, our mission is to provide artistic, cultural and educational opportunities to improve the quality of life in our communities. Proceeds will support our ongoing arts programs, such as our new Art on Wheels program for senior citizens centers to have art lessons including an artist kit, lessons twice a month with an art teacher. We expect to expand this to include a Mommy in Waiting program at a local hospital.
